National Leadership Council (NLC) Leadership Day on strengthening NHS Leadership

About NHS Leadership Day

NHS Leadership Day was held on 24th March 2010. Over 450 delegates were nominated by their regions as great advocates for leadership in the NHS and invited by Sir David Nicholson to attend this event at Chelsea Football Ground.

The Agenda was designed to give delegates a unique opportunity to meet and discuss leadership with a carefully selected cross section of exemplary leaders from across the service.

The Main Stage speakers set out the future challenge for leadership before the delegates split into small groups and rotated through 4 Workshop Zones and took part in 8 table discussions. Leadership Coaching lessons were available and taken up by many delegates.

The core theme of the day could be summed up as “Manage a little less and lead a little more”.
